Perhaps no card in the hobby has captivated collectors in the past several years the way the 1948-49 Leaf Jackie Robinson has. Pricing has escalated dramatically as a result. Just ten years ago we offered a beautiful high grade example that sold for a then-record $2,700; that card in a PSA 7 routinely breaks six figures today. A rising tide lifts all boats, so as a result, even the lowest-grade examples have skyrocketed.
This example exhibits severe condition issues, notably heavy staining along the bottom half of the card on both front and back, but lighter staining throughout as well. An area of paper loss is visible at the bottom-right corner. Still, the card is an example of Jackie Robinson's 1948 Leaf card, certainly his most valuable and desirable, in high demand in any grade.
