Attractive, clean near-set of 1969 Topps basketball, a "tall boy" set issued at the very onset of basketball's national popularity and one of the most important modern basketball issues. Distributed in 10-card packs along with a pin-up insert, each card features the player's image inset into a colorful background, which is, in turn, inset into a white border. The result is a beautifully attractive issue filled with stars and Hall of Famers. The set includes the rookie card of Lew Alcindor but also features a number of other important stars. A condition breakdown of the collection would be 2% NM, 18% EX/MT, 48% EX, 27% VG/EX, and 5% VG, with the primary condition flaws related to centering, along with a few minor corner issues. Two of the cards have been graded by SGC - #45 Lucas (SGC EX/MT+ 6.5) and #95 Bellamy (SGC NM 7). For completion, the collection is missing cards # 1, 2, 12, 15, 20, 25, 35, 40, 43, 50, 56, 60, 75, 80, 85, 90, 98, 99. 81 cards total.
