The 1947-66 Exhibit issue covered a span of 20 years, with the company issuing a new set each year.  While many of the issue's players were repeated year after year, others only appeared in one or two, leading to a variety of levels of scarcity throughout the set.  Since some of the cards were reprinted year after year, some are found with minor variations as well.

This pair of Willie Mays "batting" pose cards illustrate the minor variations referred to above.  The example graded EX 5 by SGC contains fine print in the lower-right corner that reads "Printed in U.S.A."  This lettering likely dates the production of the card to roughly 1960, based on our research.  The example graded VG/EX 4, however, contains lettering in the lower-right corner that reads "Made in U.S.A." in both upper and lower case lettering, which dates the production of the card to 1951-53, making it an early Mays card, potentially issued during his rookie season or thereabouts.  Both cards present very well, recently graded by SGC with strong eye appeal and minimal wear for the grade.  The subtleties in variations, however, make a fairly large difference in terms of when the cards were produced.  Two cards total.
