The 1952 Topps card of Enos Slaughter, Black-backed here, is a master study in composition. You get a wonderful, vintage shot Sportsman's Park in shimmering purples and yellows behind a hand colored image of the Hall-of-Fame outfielder wielding two bats as he prepares to take some warmup swings. A diamond tilt is there but the colors on this are the real jewel.
