Pair of 6.5" x 8.5" press photos depicting Pirates Hall of Famer Paul Waner in full-swing c.1925. One photo in this pair has been mounted to heavy board, fully edited and, incredibly served as the actual source artwork for Waner's 1926-29 Exhibit card. The second photo of the pair is an original Type 1 example with Underwood & Underwood stamping though this is a known Charles M. Conlon image. A paper label from the Bettmann Archive has been affixed over the Underwood stamping which remains visible if held to a light source. This was a popular source image for Paul Waner cards into the 1930's and appeared on a number of issues, including: 1933 R306 Buttercream, 1933 R317 Uncle Jacks, and 1933 R337 Eclipse Imports.
