beautiful postcard issued by Bacharach & Bro. of Baltimore, picturing the classic Baltimore Orioles teams of 1894-1896. Celebrated throughout baseball history, these Orioles clubs were known for their heady, hustling and occasionally rule-breaking style of play, and featured seven future Hall of Famers: Dan Brouthers, Ned Hanlon (manager), Hughie Jennings, Willie Keeler, Joe Kelley, John McGraw and Wilbert Robinson. It is no coincidence that three of the game's legendary managers were part of this club, and one could draw a straight line through baseball history via the managing styles of Billy martin and Casey Stengel straight back to McGraw.
Postally-used card has been graded POOR 1 by SGC with writing on both sides, mailed in October of 1907. The card is well-worn, with creasing through the image as well as some surface wear and moderate soiling. Still, a wonderful postcard of a historically important ballclub.
