Beginning in 1928, the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago changed the format of its baseball cards, electing to include four players on each card - each of the four players being teammates.  This practice would continue for the entire decade.  The "four-on-one" cards would be printed in a wide range of color combinations of black, brown and blue ink on blue, orange, green, red, white and yellow backgrounds.  Most backs remained uncolored, however, in some rare occasions cards have been found with red or yellow backs.  The 1929-30 issue contained 32 different cards, with postcard backs.

Rare example with a red postcard back, featuring three Hall of Famers: Gabby Hartnett, Rogers Hornsby and Hack Wilson.  The grade of GOOD 2 is due almost entirely to an area across the front of the card where the color and paper have been removed; whether this is a vintage issue that occurred at the factory or something subsequent is irrelevant.  The grade of GOOD 2 is generous; the card is in POOR condition.  The condition is less relevant with a rare variation like this, however, as red postcard backs are difficult to find in any condition.
