Topps was in full experimental mode and was issuing test and regional sets throughout the year in 1967. One of their more innovative projects were team-themed sticker sets, which they trial-ballooned in Boston and Pittsburgh. Each set had 33 stickers from the respective teams and the Pirates stickers may have been produced in lesser quantities than those of the Red Sox. Either way, these were not made in quantity and had a limited run that must have been deemed unsuccessful due to a lack of follow up product. A shame, as these are really nice oddball items. Clemente pulled double duty in the Pittsburgh set, appearing twice and this is his "regular" sticker, in tasty PSA 8 form. The front is nice and even, with Clemente's head given the "pop art" treatment against a bright red circle amidst comic lettering. The reverse is free of adhesive ooze and the two parts remain safely in place.
