Extraordinary card of Babe Ruth from the 1933 Goudey issue, a bright and clean card #53. Graded GOOD 2 by Beckett, the card appears strong and undergraded at first glance, with a visible centering issue and some light corner wear standing out as the primary condition flaws. The reverse, however, exhibits some writing that has contributed to the grade, yet adds an interesting contemporary element to the card: the owner crossed out the Yankees team designation on the reverse, and wrote in "Braves." Subsequently, the owner crossed out "Braves" and wrote "Retired," tracing Ruth's career trajectory for the two years following the release of the card.
