The 1938 Goudey "Big League Heads" set is one of the more playful 1930's issues. Player's heads, photographed in color (some with tasteful added tint) were attached to caricatured bodies for a whimsical look. In addition, the 24 cards in the set, originally issued with blank backgrounds, were reissued with cartoon enhancements and this Greenberg perfectly shows off the charm of these second series cards. Free of the overt toning that can affect these cards, this SGC 3.5 is rock solid for the grade. Cards with the cartoon drawings are more desirable and are also a little harder to find. With some small toning in the upper right corner area and a couple of minor color breaks in the name bar, this is a really fabulous looking card.
