While many collectors believe the strip card sets produced by M.P. & Co. in 1943 and 1949 are among the least attractive card issues ever produced, there is a certain appeal to the colorfully-illustrated cards when in more attractive condition. The set also has the distinction of being the only nationally-issued card set to be distributed during World War II. Colorful example featuring Joe DiMaggio has been graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, with light corner and edge wear along with some very slight fading to the color. Due to the method of distribution, as is the case with all strip card issues, even midgrade examples are quite difficult. One of the more interesting cards of the Yankee Clipper.
