Collector-grade example of Ty Cobb's card from the 1914 Polo Grounds Game issue. The perception among vintage collectors is that somehow game cards are less condition-sensitive due to the waxy coating and rounded corners. The cards were part of games that were intended to be played, however, they were handled as much as any other card and susceptible to wear just the same. This is evidenced in this card of Cobb, which exhibits surface wear and staining throughout. Regardless of the wear, a playing days card of Ty Cobb, certainly more affordable than some of his tobacco and caramel issues.
