Topps sporadically licensed baseball sets to a couple of local Venezuelan producers from 1959 to 1968 and they are far tougher than the US versions, with high grade examples quite scarce. These legitimately issued sets were printed on inferior cardboard and often present a washed out look when compared to the US issue.  370 Venezuelan cards were issued in 1966 and the seven of them here show no evidence of ever being pasted into an album, a fate that befell the majority of the cards issued in that country.  The Dodger-centric lot features Hall-of-Fame manager Walter Alston, who has seen only 16 examples graded by PSA and Jim Lefebvre a scant 12, with only two PSA 7's higher.  Likewise, the Osteen has seen 12 PSA grades assessed with only two higher than the PSA 6 in this lot. Meanwhile the Torborg has 8 grades in the pop report, with three higher and Willhite has a meager 9 entries.  The 5th Series checklist in PSA 3 is unmarked while the 1st series checklist PSA 4 (MK) has some marked in pencil. These are extremely nice examples from this difficult set.
