Interesting folding postcard depicting Miners from the Chateaugay Ore & Iron Co. playing baseball at their makeshift ballpark erected in Lyon Mountain, NY. Lyon Mountain, located in the northernmost extreme of NY State, is located just south of Montreal and was once once home to one of the deepest mining operations in America. Ore from Lyon Mountain is regarded as some of the purest in the world and was actively mined at this location for over 100 years from the 1860's until the late 1960's. Card remains in VG/EX condition, has not been postally used, and has been encased in a large screw-down lucite holder.
