A Tennessee native with a dynamite arm, outfielder Clarence William "Tillie" Walker played for 13 seasons in the major leagues from 1911-23, competing for four teams over that span (PHA, SLB, WSH, BOS) while winning a World Series championship with the 1916 Boston Red Sox.

This collection of scrapbook pages, photographs, and newspaper clippings emanates directly from Tillie Walker himself and was at least a portion of his personal remembrances assembled throughout a lifetime in baseball. Aside from two we found from his post-career days, the included newspaper clippings begin with Walker's time in St. Louis 1913-15, and conclude when he was with the 1927 Toronto Maple Leafs. 12 double sided pages with clippings pasted to them are present though the vast majority are loose and would be fun to sort chronologically, providing further insight into the true arc of Walker's career.

As a bonus one of the scrapbook pages includes a trimmed and unfortunately badly creased 1909 T209 Contentnea baseball card of Walker with the Spartanburg Spartans. Another interesting detail is a newspaper clipping featuring Tillie Walker sitting at his scrapbook with one of the photos included here clearly visible! The article goes on to describe the very pages offered in this listing along with a story about how the scrapbook incredibly disappeared from Tillie Walker's possession for 18 years. 

Nine photographs are included, six of which appear to be taken by news service photographers though only three display back stamps. These photos appear to have been removed from scrapbook pages and remnants of those pages are still affixed to verso of all. Heavy creasing is present to the two shots of Walker's batting grip, which are very nearly separated into two pieces. Clear tape is supporting those creases on verso. Three wonderful team photos are present, including a c.1913-15 shot of Walker's time with the St. Louis Browns, along with shots of his 1909 Tampa, FL amateur squad and his Washington College team where he attended 1908-10. All photos included exhibit scattered wear, tears (some large), and several missing corners.
