Giants legend and Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson sells Christmas Seals to New York Mayor John F. Hylan in this 6.5" x 8.5" news service photo from 1922. The Christmas Seals campaign was first launched in 1907 to help aid those stricken with tuberculosis. This was of particular signifigance to Matty as he personally battled the disease from 1920 until his death in 1925 at the age of 45. Photo presents exceptionally well with waviness to bottom of this print common to working press photos.
