Extremely difficult card from one of the most scarce issues of the era, part of a promotion created by a New York and Boston chain of stores. Children visiting the store could receive a grouping of four cards intended to be affixed to an album. The set contained athletes from multiple sports and included eight baseball players, with Ruth, Gehrig and Cobb being the keys. PSA has graded just 170 examples from the 48-card set, including just four Gehrigs. Just one example has graded higher than this. The grade of GOOD 2 is the result of a visible stain along the top edge, though with cards this scarce, one takes what one can get, as it may be years before another example surfaces - according to our research, just two examples have sold in the past ten years.
