The 1952 Bowman Small football set is one of the most beautiful and popular postwar football sets ever produced. With an overall graded population of roughly half the "large" counterpart that Bowman Gum also produced in 1952 there is the perception of a shorter supply. As such there is a demand among collectors for high-grade examples from this set.Card #57 is the first card of Hall of Fame Redskins end (pictured here as an Eagles coach). High grade copies of this card are particularly difficult to obtain as only 12 examples have attained an 8 grade with PSA and just one has been graded higher (a PSA 9). This example has excellent centering and color along with sharp edges (with the left edge bearing the telltale rough cut that is a hallmark of the time). This is an outstanding well-centered example of a low population high grade Hall of Famer.Population Data:PSA Population: 75 total graded 12 at this level 1 higher.SGC Population: 10 total graded 2 at this level 1 higher.
