Exceptional 8" x 10" photograph of diminutive outfielder Nemo Leibold during the 1917 World Series. For this Fall Classic the White Sox donned special red, white and blue uniforms designed to show support for American troops during World War I. An American flag patch was present on both sleeves along with a red and blue accented White Sox "S" logo on the chest, inlaid with stars. Red and blue striped socks completed the patriotic look. There is just a hint of wear to the corners of this photo but the central image remains untouched. An editorial circle applied in pencil appears around Leibold's head and chest area. Verso is clean overall and features Charles Conlon's personal stamping along with Conlon's handwritten identification of Leibold. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
