Sharp, high-quality 8" x 10" Charles Conlon photograph featuring Washington Senators veteran second baseman and utility man Frank LaPorte. LaPorte is perhaps best known as the very first player to compete for both New York and Boston American League franchises - playing for the New York Highlnders 1905-10, with time spent in Boston during 1908 before being traded back to NY. LaPorte kicked around the American League his entire career, beginning in 1905 until finally signing with the Federal League where he led the league in RBI's (114) for the 1914 Indianapolis Hoosiers. Though there is very minor wear to the corners photo surface is clean and free of obvious major imperfections. Verso exhibits just a hint of toning and features Charles Conlon's personal stamping along with Conlon's handwritten ID of Laporte. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
