Graded FR 1.5 by SGC. Clear, though somewhat faded, image of St. Louis pitcher Silver King, one of the more widely-collected 19th Century non-Hall of Famers, simply due to his name, a moniker he received due to his whitish-blonde hair. King was the winner of 30 games four seasons in a row, including a 45-win season in the Browns' AA championship season of 1888. Off the field issues derailed King's career after nine excellent seasons, a late 1890s comeback attempt was ended due to a broken arm. However, during the late 1880s and early 1890s, Silver King was an effective and popular pitcher.
