Occasionally we will review a card upon receipt from a grading company, examining it under 10x and then 40x magnification, searching for the justification for a grade. We are not professional graders, and we certainly understand it is possible to miss something that a grader's keen eye is trained to see. This gorgeous red T206 Cobb is one such example. Fresh to the hobby, part of a large tobacco collection featured throughout this auction, this was one of the finer examples of the group. Reasonably well-centered with some minor corner chipping, we anticipated a VG grade. Very light wrinkling can be viewed at the bottom of the reverse, under close examination, and a few very faint dark specks of some sort of foreign substance is visible near the top left corners. Otherwise, the card is beautiful, certainly a tremendous value given the eye appeal, and the skyrocketing prices of T206 Cobb cards.
