At the end of the 1909 season, veteran shortstop Kid Elberfeld was sold by the Highlanders to the Washington Senators for $5,000. In advance of the 1910 season, a small number - but not all - of his various T206 cards were updated to reflect the change to his team affiliation by adding the word "Washington" in place of New York, and by adding a "W" onto Elberfeld's uniform jersey. The result is one of the more scarce variations in the T206 issue. Graded VG 3 by SGC, the card boasts strong image quality with a bold, red background, with some light corner wear and some very light surface blemishes near the left, as well as along the bottom border. Still, a scarce variation in the T206 issue, one of very few players whose teams were changed in the midst of a print run.
