Spectacular base mitt, likely dating to the early teens, features a stunning black and white leather contrast.  The body of the mitt is comprised of soft, supple black leather, while the thick leather piping, wrist strap and lacing are all white.  The leather wrist strap, and buckle remain unbroken, the Goldsmith "Iron Cross" patch on the reverse remaining clear and strong.  The glove lining is smooth, with all original components and no writing, holes, or other flaws of note.  Some wear and cracking is evident along the piping, light cracking to the leather throughout, and the white has darkened to a light tan.  Excellent condition, a stellar example.
