Gorgeous cover of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper dated August 29, 1891.  The image is captioned "The struggle for the league championship - off for first base on a fly."   Beautifully colored and featuring a player who appears to be Buck Ewing, though Ewing missed most of the 1891 season and New York was certainly not struggling for any championships in 1891.  Professionally matted and framed to a final size of 19" x 23",  the paper does exhibit a few stray ink stains and some pencil writing at the upper-right corner, with the matte preventing us from examining the edges and reverse.  Still, a beautiful framed display.
