Detroit News pictorial magazine featuring "Old '09" Tom Harmon, the 1940 Heisman winner, Michigan halfback and future Rams back and World War II bomber pilot who was the only survivor of a crash in South America,and who was  shot down in a dogfight with Japanese fighters.  The image of Harmon is striking, a close-up photo of the uniformed star.  Significant edge and corner wear is evident, as the entire publication is intact but brittle, dated November 19, 1939.
