Perhaps the most desirable card of any non-HOFer of the 1970s, one of our favorite bits of hobby research is the one that tracked this photo to a specific game, in an effort to identify the player sliding into the Yankees backstop (it's Oakland A's pitcher Chuck Dobson, who was safe). This is a tremendous example of the card, graded by GAI when they were a going concern. The "1st Graded" designation was an indicator used by Global to identify the first example of that card that to which they assigned that grade - so this is the first NM-MT+ 8.5 example of this card that they graded - while they were still a reputable company. This piece of information is only significant now that GAI has ceased operation, since this card has remained in the possession of our consignor for 15 years.
