The ultimate "buy the card, not the holder," a spectacular example of Rogers Hornsby's tough World Wide Gum card, well-centered and clean, with square, EX corners and a bright image. Closer inspection reveals a series of light surface wrinkles, or perhaps former wrinkles that were at some point flattened. A tiny spot of paper loss can barely be seen without magnification. If you enlarge the scan as large as your computer will permit, look above the "B" in "Hornsby," and you will be able to see the beginnings of one wrinkle, which actually makes its way down along Hornsby's leg, virtually the entire height of the card. However, when we need to instruct viewers to enlarge the scan so it's huge, so they can barely make out the beginnings of a light wrinkle, the phrase "buy the card, not the holder" applies.
