Without question the most famous speech in baseball history, Lou Gehrig's emotional July 4, 1939 "Luckiest Man" speech is captured here in a wide-angle 7x10 Type 2 photo. Undoubtedly produced form the original negative, this photographic print was created sometime between 1958 and 1962 as evidenced by the United Press International stamping without zip code present on verso. Photo is in superb condition with only minor staining to front with a few editorial marks along the white border. Verso includes news photo service paper tag affixed with tape. This photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
