One of the most interesting cards in the T202 Hassan "Triple Folder" set, and one which is seldom made available for auction, simply due to the mystery of the center panel photo.  The photo identifies only third baseman Bris Lord, as tagging out "The Runner," at third.  It was an astute collector on the Network 54 message board who, more than a decade ago, suggested that the sliding baserunner was none other than Shoeless Joe Jackson.  A fascinating 15-page thread ensued, with a researcher finally producing a newspaper photo from a 1911 game that appears to have been taken of the same play, from a slightly different angle and a split second later, which clearly identifies the sliding player as Joe Jackson.

The thread, one of the finest examples of group research we have seen on a message board, can be found here:  https://net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=124045

While there will always be naysayers, we feel the evidence is fairly conclusive that the center panel photo depicts Jackson sliding into Lord.  The card itself has been graded VG 3 by SGC, largely due to some visible wear on the reverse, along with some wear to the left edge.  The overall card image is quite strong, an outstanding way to obtain a period baseball card featuring Joe Jackson without the five-figure price tag.
