Cabinet photograph of career minor league second baseman Charlie Loudenslager with the 1906-1908 Rochester Bronchos, Eastern League. Loudenslager enjoyed a cup of coffee with the Brooklyn Superbas in 1904, making his only appearance in the major leagues on April 15 at Washington Park during Brooklyn's first homestand of the season. Unfortunately for Loudenslager the opposing pitcher that day was future Hall of Famer Joe McGinnity of the New York Giants who fanned him twice in his only two plate appearances. It was McGinnity's first victory of the season on his way to finishing 1904 with an astonishing 35-8 record.

It appears that Loudenslager personalized and signed this mounted photo. We submitted the item to James Spence Authentication for examination but unfortunately they were unable to authenticate the signature due to lack of exemplars. Front of mount does exhibit corner wear and heavy staining throughout. Despite discoloration of mount the oval photograph presents quite nicely overall. Verso contains staining consistent with front along with paste and tape residue, particularly along right edge.
