Collector-grade "shoebox" collection of 1952 and 1953 Topps cards, consigned by a family of non collectors. The cards are mostly well-loved, grading FAIR on average with some lesser and a few better, with creasing, some with writing on the front or back, and additional wear at the corners and edges. About a dozen of the cards would qualify as something less than POOR, with tears, paper loss, and significant surface abrasions. Many of the cards appear strong but have vertical creases, the result of a well-meaning attempt to protect the cards in nine-pocket holders that were too small for the oversized issues. Still, the popularity of the issues make this a desirable starter lot for collector-grade set-building. The group includes the following: 1) 1952 Topps (44 cards): #192, 193, 194, 196, 197, 198, 201, 203 (2) 205, 208 (2), 209, 210, 212, 217, 218, 219 (4), 220, 221, 222, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, 230, 231, 232, 233, 235, 237, 238, 240, 241, 242, 244, 245, 246, 247, and 250. 2) 1953 Topps (48 cards): #2 (2), 5, 11, 15 (2), 38, 39, 43, 51, 56, 73, 75, 79, 83, 131, 167, 168, 171, 172, 174, 175, 176, 177, 179 (2), 180 (2), 182, 185, 186 (2), 188, 191 Kiner (POOR), 193, 194, 195, 196, 197 (2), 205, 208, 209, 212, 215, 217, 219, 220 Paige (something less than poor). 91 cards total.
