Outstanding retail advertising display for premiums redeemable from the Turkish Trophies brand of cigarettes.  The premiums were available to collectors who saved coupons that were included with cigarette packs.  This beautiful, scarce retail advertising display measures 16 3/4" x 33 3/4" and is framed with wood, the Turkish Trophies logo printed at the top of the frame.  Inside, flanking an advertising message, is a beautiful L5 leather from the Hamilton King "Beach Girls" series, as well as a T7 "Girls" cabinet card ("Bar Harbor Girl") and an S58 Large "King Girls" Silk ("Polo Girl).  Flanking the leather are two examples of the redemption coupons, each carefully matted behind the leather.  The overall display is wonderful, an apparent EX or EX/MT, with light signs of handling and a few minor surface abrasions.  The items under the glass all present as EX/MT, with very little sign of wear.

These Turkish Trophies display pieces have become quite rare, for two reasons.  First, of course, surviving examples of display pieces in general are rare, as they were subject to considerable abuse and wear, and over the years were discarded or destroyed.  Second, and more sinister, is that a similar display piece was produced with a baseball theme, including an L1 leather premium, a T3 Turkey Red cabinet, and an S81 silk.  Over the years, unscrupulous actors in the hobby have been known to disassemble non-sports pieces and replaced the collectibles with baseball collectibles, hoping to attract a wider audience.  The reality is that an example in condition this fine, with such exceptional collectibles on display, is a hobby rarity regardless of the content of the material included.  A rare presentation, three exceptionally attractive, higher-grade collectibles inside a beautiful, large-format retail display.
