In a recent auction, we offered a game-worn Jim Palmer jersey from his 1975 Cy Young award-winning season.  That jersey was consigned from the collection of Ted Patterson, who displayed the jersey in one of his memorabilia rooms, alongside this pair of Adidas shoes.  Both were given to him directly by Palmer, as Ted was a broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles during Palmer's career.

These Adidas shoes are approximately size 9-10, well-worn, with the style photo matched by MEARS.  Palmer's uniform number 22 has been written in heavy black marker on the heel of both shoes.  The shoes are extremely dirty and worn, and the cleats have been removed from the bottom.  The bottoms of the shoes are absolutely caked with dirt from the Memorial Stadium pitcher's mound, the dirt long ago hardened, with suspicious-looking white spots throughout.  It is difficult to move the shoes without small bits of dirt falling from the soles, as well as from the other areas of the shoes, which are also dusted with infield dirt.  These shoes are simply incredible artifacts, worthy of being encased (forever) in plastic, for careful storage and display.  A long-ago artifact used by a Hall of Fame pitcher, quite possibly during his 1975 Cy Young season, from the collection of Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson.  Full LOA from MEARS.
