Richie Ashburn had the misfortune of having his playing career overlap with some of the greatest outfielders to ever play. As a result, he was an underrated player, despite 2,574 career hits, a .308 lifetime batting average, and a .396 on base percentage. Beloved in Philadelphia, Ashburn was not inducted into the Hall of Fame until 1995, just two years before his passing. This is a sharp, clean example of his rookie card, reasonably well-centered for the issue, with sharp, lightly-touched corners and bright, bold coloring.
