Stunning Old Judge cabinet photo featuring King Kelly, one of the most popular players of his era, in one of his best-known images. Pictured here in the uniform of the Boston Beaneaters, where Kelly would play for three seasons after starring in Chicago, the image is quite extraordinary, one of the finest we hve encountered. Some areas of foxing are evident near the top of tthe photo and mount, as well as on the reverse, where some light pencil marks result in the qualifier assigned by PSA. Overall wear is limited, some light soiling to the peach mount evident, as is some very slight chipping noted at the bottom-right corner. An extremely strong midgrade example from a condition-sensitive issue, one of the most famous poses of one of the era's most popular players. Certainly a must for any serious 19th Century hobbyist.
