Collection of seven rare large-format (15" x 22 1/2") posters that were part of a 1970-1971 campaign conducted by the Washington DC Department of Motor Vehicles to promote vehicular and traffic safety. The campaign included posters which were hung in conspicuous locations throughout the city and a set of ten baseball cards. The designs featured crude black and white player photos with the player's name and position along with a traffic safety message (i.e. "I wait for my pitch in baseball - you wait for your light in traffic." The posters are printed on fairly thin cardstock in a variety of colors while the cards were printed on flimsy pastel card stock. Over the years the hobby has seen a number of baseball card sets appear and the occasional poster but we have not encountered a grouping this large. Prat of the collection of Baltimore broadcaster Ted Patterson posters include Dick Bosman (VG condittion with discoloration around the edges signature not authenticated) Paul Casanova (EX - in Spanish) Tim Cullen (VG/EX with some corner wear) Toby Harrah (EX) Frank Howard (G with edge wear and small tears along the bottom edge) Elliott Maddox (G EX appearance but a 2" tear at the left edge and a lower-right corner crease) and Denny McClain (EX mild toning). A grouping of seven rare posters from this interesting local PSA campaign.
