Greg Mulleavy was a member of the 1930 Chicago White Sox a light-hitting shortstop who batted .263 in limited duty. He played in one game for the 1932 White Sox and another for the 1933 Boston Red Sox spending the rest of his playing career shuttling back and forth between the minors and the PCL before becoming a minor league manager and coach. In the 1950s Mulleavy becamse a manager in the Dodgers' farm system before becoming a fairly steady presence down the first base line as a coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. After the 1961 season Mulleavy was forced to resign to recover from an operation he'd had over the winter replaced by Hall of Famer Leo Durocher. He returned to the club in 1962 and remained until 1964 when the entire coaching staff was let go. Mulleavy's name is stitched onto this beautiful Spalding size 40 flannel an attractive jersey with evidence of heavy use and some minor repairs in a few areas. The classic Dodgers logo across the breast of the white jersey is the main attraction here a beautiful example of an early Los Angeles Dodgers flannel. The jersey does show evidence of multi-player use as the uniform number 31 has been restored with the outline of another number visible. The name "LANCE" has been written above the tail evidence that the jersey was used by another player subsequent to Mulleavy's departure at the end of the 1964 season. MEARS has deducted three points from the base grade for he organizational use and an additional point for the repairs and restoration but don't let the A6 grade fool you - this is a gorgeous Dodgers jersey that has seen exceptional extended use in the organization. LOA from MEARS.
