The 1984 Detroit Tigers led the American League East from wire-to-wire opening the season with an astonishing record of 35-5 and finishing the season with a 104-58 record and winning the World Series. The 1987 Tigers won the division as well losing the ALCS to Minnesota. Somewhere between that magical 1984 season and somewhat less magical 1987 season Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson wore this cap a well-used navy blue and orange New Era size 7. The cap exhibits signs of heavy use with significant staining around the sweatband. Anderson's uniform number 11 is written inside the brim and his long-faded autograph can also be seen upon close examination. LOA from MEARS.
