Interesting grouping of baseball-themed postcards all dating around the turn of the century. Most are of the real photo variety five of which are team photos. Collection includes 1) Fairhome Youth Team: Clean postcard picturing 11 team members posed holding a "FAIRHOME" pennant. Ten teammates are in full uniform with an eleventh in street clothes. Strong appearance some light pencil writing on the reverse. 2) 1915 Standish Club: Ragtag-looking group of ballplayers wearing multiple uniforms from Massachusetts-area teams "Standish Club Dorchester Mass 1915" etched into the image underneath the players. VG/EX condition light pencil writing on the reverse. 3) Unidentified youth team picturing ten players plus a mascot wearing a varity of uniforms posed in a photo studio. EX appearance some mild staining and writing on the reverse. 4) "C29" team photo: 11 similarly-uniformed players posed with equipment. Strong eye appeal light wear around the edges and corners. 5) Unidentified player posed with bat aside home plate. Trimmed from its original size measuring 5" x 3". Strong image quality and contrast. 6) Unidentified player wearing a full uniform and glove the letter "N" stitched onto his breast. Heavy creasing at the upper-right and likely trimmed from a larger size. 7) Four players each posed in a studio setting trimmed from a larger size but with excellent eye appeal. 8) Action photo picturing a player sliding into the bag being tagged by a defensive player umpire signaling "out." Some visible silvering handwritten note dated 1/22/11 though no sign of postal use. 9)Jefferson College (OR) Baseball Team: Colorized photo of the ballclub posed in front of what is likely an academic building. VG/EXC condition with light wear throughout. Nine postcards total.
