Spectacular complete high-grade 1969 Topps set from the Ted Patterson collection. Ted assembled a high-quality collection of Topps and Bowman sets high-grade sets in what we like to call "1980 mint" condition - grades once considered MINT but not factoring in manufacturing defects like centering print snow etc. Unfortunately Ted stored many of his sets in actual shoeboxes; the result was that over time many of the cards also developed corner dings from rattling around inside the shoebox. In the case of his 1969 set the corner wear is somewhat limited by their tight fit in the box though there are some corner dings and examples of corner softness that reduces the technical grade in places. Despite this the eye appeal of the set is quite strong. We submitted two of the set's key cards to PSA for grading: card #500 of Mickey Mantle was returned with an EX 5 grade card #533 of Nolan Ryan returned with a NM 7 holder. A complete condition breakdown is 7% NM-MT; 23% NM; 36% EX-MT; 23% EX; 8% VG/EX; 3% VG. A tremendous complete set assembled the year of issue and carefully stored away. 664 cards total.
