I have one to sell!
1940s-era partial display featuring the image of Benny McCoy of the Philadelphia Athletics advertising Velvet Tobacco with the positioning statement "The Real McCoy." Measuring 21" x 32" this is the remnants of a larger cardboard advertising display. Of the various retail advertising displays of the era featuring ballplayers we have found the Velvet Tobacco pieces to be more difficult to find and we have never actually seen the full Benny McCoy piece. We suspect the piece was a die-cut piece similar to the Eddie Arcaro piece we offered some time ago (https://loveofthegameauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=13508); that piece measured 22" across by 44" in height printed on heavy cardboard. While a professional restorer could certainly reconstruct the piece to resemble its original form it is quite attractive on its own.
