Often incorrectly called Gold Medal Flour cards the R313A issue from Gold Medal Foods Inc. of Minneapolis was a group of 3 1/4" by 5 3/8" cards issued to commemorate the great Cardinals/Tigers World Series of 1934. Redeemable by mail in groups of four the 12-card set featured six cards from each team a total of five Hall of Famers. This is an outstanding and often overlooked card issue one that is extremely condition-sensitive simply due to the oversized nature of the cards and the way that they were redeemed. Presented here is a beautiful midgrade complete set of 12 cards plus an original mailing envelope. The cards are wonderful clean with sharp images but light corner wear reducing the average grade to EX. Light toning is evident in places but the cards exhibit very little wear beyond the corners. The envelope is well-worn as one would expect having traveled through the mail. An outstanding complete set 12 cards plus one envelope in total.
