Outstaning cast-metal figure celebrates the Chicago Cubs' deadball era dynasty during the Tinker-Evers-Chance years. A standing Bear mascot is depicted atop a baseball-shaped base embossed with the word "Cubs." A sturdy rare statue stands approximately 6" in height and features all-original paint with no signs of restoration. EX condition. PLEASE NOTE: some additional information has come to light about this statue when it was pointed out by an astute bidder that a similar statue was also available that had a slightly different form factor whereby the bear was perched atop a baseball bat that rested on the baseball. Upon doing further research we found a variety of different examples with slightly different form factors including one where the base was part of an ashtray and another where the bear's left paw had a catcher's mitt on it. We have learned from multiple sources that this statue was available with and without the baseball bat and while we cannot vouch for the originality of the nut and bolt holding the bear in place we are confident that this example was manufactured without the bat.
