NOTE: A copy of the MEARS LOA has now been uploaded to this lot listing. Like many knuckleballers popular pitcher Charlie Hough enjoyed a long career playing in three different decades between 1970 and 1994 returing at 46 years old. His 25-year career resulted in an exactly even record of 216-216 a lifetime ERA of 3.75. His finest seasons came with Texas in the 1980s when he routinely reached double digits in victories keeping his ERA in the 3.5 range leading the league in complete games in 1984 with 17. Early in his career Hough broke in with the Dodgers but between 1970 and 1972 saw little work appearing in just 14 games. Presented here is his jersey from 1971 when he would pitch in just four games just 4.1 innings with no record and a 4.15 ERA. The jersey is beautiful a six-button Goodman & Sons flannel appropriately tagged in the collar and tail Hough's number 49 emblazoned on the breast and back. In outstanding condition some loosening stitching on the numeral has resulted in a half-grade deduction by MEARS the final grade of A9.5 an outstanding testament to the condition and authenticity of the jersey. A highly-desirable Dodgers flannel.
