I have one to sell!
The 200-card 1917 Collins-McCarthy "Baseball's Hall of Fame" issue is the company's only non-PCL set. Printed on thin stock and featuring black and white player photos with a thick gloss surface the set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers and has become incrediblly popular among collectors in recent years due to player selection and scarcity. The glossy surfaces are also subject to wear resulting in some condition-sensitivity that makes high-grade examples difficult to obtain. We have obtained a large assortment of cards from the issue including many of the keys. Recognizing the difficulty of obtaining individual cards from the set we have elected to offer them card-by-card in an effort to help individual player and type collectors obtain more affordable examples for their collections rather than grouping them in large lots to sell to the highest bidder. Rarely does such a large assortment from the issue appear at auction and it is our privilege to offer them here. One of the handful of absolute key cards to the Collins-McCarthy set featuring Pirates hero and Hall of Famer Honus Wagner at the end of a swing his powerful forearms flexing. By 1917 Wagner's best playing days were behind him the 43-year-old no longer a regular player and his statistics declining with each season. Still one off the greats in the history of the game along with the Boston Store card the final baseball card of his playing career.
