Outstanding collector-grade example of one of the most popular tobacco issues not to feature a Hall of Famer the T212-2 Obak issue. The most common of the three T212 issues the cards were issued in packs of Obak Cigarettes and featured players from the six-team Pacific Coast League as well as the four-team Northwestern League. Though two different types exist within this set - one describing the set as "150 Subjects" and the other identifying "175 Subjects " each of the cards in this particular set are of the "175 Subjects" variety. Of the 35 different advertising slogans featured on the backs of the cards from this issue only the ultra-rare "Just Right" slogan is missing from this group with at least one of each of the remaining 34 backs represented. As mentioned the set is a collector-grade example with many cards exhibiting paper loss or stamping on the reverse (some featuring owner stamps as opposed to the stamping often seen on the issue) and also some with mild writing in pencil or ink along the top border. Still Obaks are often considered among the most beautiful of all the tobacco issues due to the detailed images and colorful backgrounds and the cards remain highly desirable in any grade. A condition breakdown of this collection would be 5% VG/EX 17% VG 34% GOOD; 33% FAIR and 11% POOR. In addition 15 cards have been graded by PSA.
