Both cards have the Piedmont 350 factory 25 back and present with very strong color and image clarity.Did you know that in 1938 Lena Blackburne discovered what is now known as "Lena Blackburne"s Baseball Rubbing Mud " along the Delaware River in New Jersey not far from Love of the Game Auctions? Lena"s rubbing mud is still in use today collected from the same top-secret mud hole by the family to which Blackburne willed his business upon his passing in 1968. The mud is in use by every major league and most minor league teams today as it is rubbed on every game ball by the umpiring crew just prior to game time to reduce the shine and improve the grip on the brand-new baseballs.Nonetheless these are two exceptional midgrade cards from the iconic T206 set.
