PSA-Authenticated ticket stub from Game 1 of the 1919 World Series at Redland Field. Eddie Cicotte took the mound and on the second pitch hit Cincinnati's Morrie Rath in the back with a pitch - a signal to gambler Arnold Rothstein that the fix was in and the White Sox would be throwing the game. At the end of the contest Cincinnati had won the game 9-1 with Cicotte giving up 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings. The stub is well-worn heavily creased with significant surface wear and an irregular tear at the left edge. Still one of the most historically important stubs in the hobby from the first game of the legendary 1919 World Series that changed the course of the development of professional baseball.
