Paper advertising broadside measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" and advertises a "Bees vs. Cubs" game utilizing 1876 rules to be played on June 24 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of baseball. Advertising the game being played with 1876 rules the broadside reads as follows: In 1876 Trams ride to park in horse drawn hacksplayers wear neckties but no glovesFoul flies are out on first bounceBatter calls for high or low ballPitcher delivers ball underhanded In 1936 You can see the 1876 rules in action atNational League Field June 24 Accompanying the broadside is a 10" x 8" photo picturing what appears to be a horse-drawn carriage bringing old-time players to a ballpark. 19 men are seated or standing in the carriage each in street clothes none identified. The photo is wrinkled and worn with a few edge tears the slug missing from the reverse. The broadside printed on brittle newsprint has had some paper flake away at the edges and upper-left corner but is otherwise strong. Two pieces total.
